Discover best practices to enroll in Brand Registry

Brand Registry is a free program that unlocks powerful tools, including A+ Content and Intellectual Property (IP) protection, that help you build customer trust and grow your business in our store.

Here’s what you need to know to enroll in this program:

Start with a trademark. Brand Registry requires an active registered trademark or a pending trademark application. Your trademark must be a text-based mark (word mark) or an image-based mark with words, letters, or numbers, issued by an approved government IP office. If you don’t have a trademark yet, you can use our IP Accelerator to connect with trusted legal providers at competitive rates and get faster access to Brand Registry benefits while your application is pending.

Gather the right information. Before you apply, collect the following details:

  • Your brand name in the exact format as it appears on your trademark record.
  • Your logo image (if your trademark is image-based).
  • Your trademark registration or pending application number.
  • Product categories for your brand.
  • A product or packaging image that clearly shows your brand name.

Avoid common errors. Small mistakes like the following can delay your enrollment – watch out for them:

  • Brand name discrepancies: Your brand name must match your trademark exactly. Pay attention to spaces and symbols to avoid discrepancies. For example, if you register your trademark as “Buy with Prime” but your application shows “BuywithPrime,” it will not get approved.
  • Image requirements: Your brand name must be permanently affixed to the product or packaging and clearly visible. Stickers, tags, and digital mockups are not accepted.
  • Trademark type mismatch: The trademark type you enter must match your trademark record exactly.

Trademark owners should take the following steps to apply:

  • Log in to Brand Registry using your Seller Central credentials.
  • Click “Enroll a new brand” and complete the process by providing brand information, uploading product photos, verifying your identity, and then clicking “Submit.”
  • After submission, we will send a verification code to the public contact on your trademark registration record—share that code back in the application portal to complete enrollment.

To register your brand, go to Launch your brand with Amazon.
