Amazon Updates

You can ship dangerous goods with our Partnered Carrier program from April 30, 2026

Amazon has officially expanded its Partner Carrier program to support domestic shipping of dangerous goods (hazmat) inventory across the United States starting April 30, 2026. This is a major operational update for FBA sellers handling regulated products, making hazardous inventory shipping simpler, faster, and far more scalable.

Previously, the Amazon Partner Carrier program only supported select lithium battery products. With this latest expansion, sellers can now ship all FBA-eligible dangerous goods inventory using Amazon’s partnered shipping network.

For Amazon sellers managing hazmat products, this update removes several logistical barriers and streamlines the shipment creation process directly within Seller Central.

What This Update Means for Amazon Sellers

The biggest advantage of this expansion is simplification.

Until now, sellers dealing with dangerous goods often had to coordinate with multiple freight providers, manage separate compliance processes, and navigate complex carrier requirements. Amazon’s updated Partner Carrier program centralizes much of that workflow into a single shipment process.

With this rollout, eligible dangerous goods can now be shipped through Amazon-partnered carriers using the following:

  • Small Parcel Delivery (SPD)
  • Less Than Truckload (LTL)
  • Intermodal Shipping
  • Full Truckload (FTL)

This creates more flexibility for brands shipping inventory at different scales while reducing operational friction.

Why This Matters

Dangerous goods inventory has traditionally been more difficult and expensive to move through fulfillment networks because of transportation regulations and carrier limitations. For many sellers, shipping compliance alone created delays and additional costs.

By expanding partnered carrier support, Amazon is helping sellers:

  • Simplify hazmat shipment creation
  • Reduce coordination with third-party carriers
  • Improve shipment efficiency
  • Scale dangerous goods inventory more easily
  • Centralize logistics management inside Seller Central

This is especially important for sellers in categories such as:

  • Electronics with lithium batteries
  • Automotive products
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Aerosols
  • Chemicals and industrial supplies
  • Beauty and personal care products containing flammable ingredients

How to Ship Dangerous Goods Through Amazon Partnered Carriers

Amazon sellers can now create dangerous goods shipments directly through the Send to Amazon workflow.

Here’s the process:

Step 1: Choose Inventory to Send

Select the inventory you want to ship to FBA. Sellers can include both dangerous and non-dangerous goods in the same workflow.

Step 2: Select Amazon Partnered Carrier

During shipment setup, choose an Amazon-partnered carrier for either parcel or freight shipping modes.

Step 3: Complete the Workflow

Continue through the standard. Send it to the Amazon process and follow the shipment instructions provided by Amazon.

Eligible Dangerous Goods

Not every hazmat product automatically qualifies. Sellers should review Amazon’s  Dangerous goods identification guide (hazmat) to confirm eligibility and compliance requirements before shipping.

Products must still meet Amazon FBA dangerous goods policies and transportation regulations.

A Major Operational Upgrade for FBA Sellers

This update represents a significant logistics improvement for Amazon sellers operating in regulated product categories. By expanding the Partner Carrier program beyond lithium batteries to all FBA-eligible dangerous goods, Amazon is reducing complexity and making inventory movement more accessible for growing brands.

For sellers looking to scale hazardous inventory categories in 2026, this change could improve operational efficiency, reduce shipping headaches, and create a smoother replenishment process across the US fulfillment network.
